Project:	Improvement of EIA System in Syria

Continuing the project "Development of an EIA Support System", the work on the EIA system in Syria are concentrating now on specific aspects. The EIA Support System has become an English/Arabic information and communication system with high acceptance and distribution.

We are noe providing following services to improve the actual EIA system in the Syrian Arabic Republic:

• continuing the upgrading of EIA Support System and establishing a comprehensive information and communication platform, where issues concerning methodology and procedure of EIA can be discussed,
• providing E-learning modules for introduction in EIA proceudre and methodology,
• preparation of EIA Guidelines on specific types of projects supporting practical work on efficient execution of EIA procedures.

Additionally, a review process has been developed and integrated into the EIA process to ensure a good and satisfying EIA proceudre in general.
